Quantum philosophy is inquiry into the intersection of physics and metaphysics, their relationship, and the practical ways in which this relationship can be affected through conscious and subconscious events.

A Definition of Quantum Philosophy

I don’t yet have much to say on quantum philosophy, since it’s the only category on this site that I’ve constructed on my own. I know that others have used the term, but it doesn’t represent a formal field of inquiry within the academy.

The exploration of this intersection of consciousness and metaphysics was prompted by my listening to these three resources:

Alan Watts’ lectures Out of Your Mind
Nathaniel Branden’s book Honoring the Self
Pattrick Grim’s course Philosophy of Mind: Brains, Consciousness, and Thinking Machines

Although I realize that psychedelics formally exist within this space, I am not at all speaking about those realities, but rather about consciousness generally — or, ordinary consciousness, as Michel Foucault has called it.
